We’re building the trust layer Kenya’s group-travel scene never had.
Nairobi already runs a huge informal group-travel economy. WhatsApp groups, Instagram pages, and individual organisers filling matatus and 4x4s to Naivasha, Diani, and the Mara most weekends. The demand was never the problem.
What was broken: sending M-Pesa to a stranger and hoping the trip happens. No review history. No recourse when the bus doesn’t show. Every trip sold from scratch, in a group chat, by one person answering the same twenty questions.
TwendeTrips isn’t a tour operator. We don’t own vans, guides, or camps. We’re a marketplace, and the thing we actually sell is trust: verified leaders, two-way reviews, and payment held in escrow until your trip actually runs.
What we believe
- 🇰🇪 Kenya first, all of it. Not just the well-worn safari circuit.
- 🔒 Escrow and verification are the product, not an add-on.
- 🤝 A good trip leader deserves more reach than their own follower count.
- 💬 Reviews on both sides. A stranger should feel safe sharing a tent with you too.
