How does escrow actually work?
When you pay for a spot, your money goes into TwendeTrips' account, not directly to the leader. We release it to the leader after the trip ends, minus a 48–72 hour hold period for disputes.
What if the trip doesn't reach minimum numbers?
You get a full refund automatically, every time. No negotiation needed. Same if the leader cancels for any reason.
What's the difference between Save and Watchlist?
Save is a straightforward bookmark for trips you like. Watchlist is for trips you're seriously considering but not ready to commit to yet. Think of it as "track this before I decide."
What do the leader tiers mean?
ID Verified is the minimum bar to list a trip: real ID, phone, and M-Pesa name match confirmed. Trusted Leader means 3+ trips run here with a 4.5+ rating. A licensed-transport tier is on the roadmap.
Is my identity as a traveller verified too?
Not yet. Right now TwendeTrips verifies trip leaders before they can list, since they're the ones responsible for a trip. Traveller identity verification is on our roadmap, but isn't required to book a spot today.
Can a company or existing tour brand list on TwendeTrips?
Yes. List under your existing brand name, same as you would on Instagram or WhatsApp. Verification still checks the real person behind the account (ID, phone, M-Pesa name match), not just a business name, so travellers know a real person is accountable for the trip even when it's listed under a brand.
Does TwendeTrips arrange transport or the meeting point?
No. Each leader sets and publishes their own meeting point, and handles transport as part of what's included in their trip (or not). TwendeTrips doesn't book, insure, or arrange transport as a separate service.
Can I get a refund if I just change my mind?
Yes, based on how close it is to departure: full refund 14+ days out, 50% at 7–13 days, no refund inside 7 days. See our full cancellation policy on any trip page.
